BODYMAX OLYMPIC CAST BARBELL KIT REVIEW 2016
If your looking for a good quality set of weights and a strong olympic bar then this kit is a great choice. 100kg is a great starter set. The weight discs are also avaible to buy separately so it’s easy to add more weight later.
As a proud owner of these myself here’s my 2 year hands on review.
Following the classic olympic style, this 7ft bar is just like one you would find at a commercial gym.
The weight discs
The weight discs look and feel the part. The rubber coating is a great feature which makes these weights almost silent during exercise. Another great design element is the tri-grip. As seen below this leaves 3 open sections which allow you to grip and hold the plates. This makes setting them up on the bar much easier but also allows you to use the discs for other exercises without the bar.
The build quality is fantastic with both the bar and the weight discs. The bar feels very sturdy and strong. Even loaded with over 130kg of weight the bar stays firm and stands its ground with no signs of bends or wobble. See below close up pictures of mine after almost 2 years of consistent use.
With the rubber coating the weight discs have a really nice premium feel. See the pictures below how mine are still holding up after 2 years.
what comes in this kit?
You get a great selection of weights in this kit as seen above. It also comes with spring collars included.
Just need the discs?
