Snacking is a great way to overcome the temptations of junk food when it’s at hands reach. But that’s not all! By packing snacks we are not only feeding our cravings. There are lots of snacks available that contain loads of important nutrients that will all work towards achieving that dream physique.

Peanut but is a great choice for snacking. You can sneak in spoonfuls or add it to other snacks for a large dosage of healthy fats.
These little nuts have an amazing nutrition profile. Filled with healthy fats, fibre and vitamin B which is also great for energy.
Mixed unsalted nuts
A very simple and easy snack. I always keep a bag of mixed nuts with me. If I ever have a snack craving I know they are there.
Walnuts are a great choice for your snack craving. Low in carbs and and brilliant source for Omega-3 fatty acids.
Easy to grab and snack on. Bananas are a great source of potassium. They are also great if you need a burst of energy.
These are almost the perfect snack for muscle building. Each avacdo gives an average of 10g of fibre and 15g of healthy monounsaturated fat.
High in body-friendly antioxidants, Grapes are a great choice! These are also really tasty frozen. Try freezing a bag and give them a try!

A very popular snack used by professional bodybuilders. Cottage cheese provides casein protein, a slow digesting protein. This makes it the ultimate snack before bed, fuelling your muscles while you sleep.

Raw carrots are a popular snack if your looking to keep your carbs low. Try dipping them in hummus for a great little snack.
Many people are unaware that you can cook the perfect Broccoli in the microwave in under 5 minutes, even from frozen! Pack small broccoli florets into little plastic containers. Add a little smash of water then seal the lid on and microwave for 3-5 minutes for the perfect cooked broccoli. To make this a really nice snack you can also melt a little low fat cheese on top.
A perfect snack if your looking to keep your carbs low. Celery is 95% water and contains a great amount of vitamin K which boosts bone strength. Make this extra nutritious by dripping it in peanut butter.. Yum!
Beef Jerky is seasoned dried beef. Packed full of protein this is the perfect snack if your looking to increase your protein intake. You should be able to find this in packets at any good supermarket.
Hard boiled egg
We all know eggs are a great source of protein but not only for breakfast! Pre boil a batch of eggs and you’ve got yourself an instant healthy protein filled snack.
can of tuna
Canned tuna is an amazing source of protein and it’s really cheap for the amount you get. At upto 30g of protein per can this is my first choice if I need a boast in my daily protein intake.
