Protein cookies? Sounds and looks yummy but how do they taste and are they worth it? The guys at Myprotein never fail to impress me with their massive and growing range of supplements and now we have protein cookies. Lets see if they are as good as they look and if they stack up vs the usual protein bars you might have tried.
What you get
Before jumping into the taste test lets have a quick look at the nutrition for each cookie. One protein cookie gives you a whopping 38 grams of protein and 20 grams of carbs for 320 calories. That’s a massive amount of protein for an on the go snack. These cookies seem like the perfect extra snack for bulking up and building muscle.
Mix and taste test
When it comes to protein bars and supplements I always have a open mind when it comes to taste and try to be very forgiving on any small taste flaws. You simply can’t expect a product like this to taste like your grandma’s freshly baked cookies!
However I was quite surprised when first tasting these cookies. They actually make a really yummy snack that’s great to have if your away from the kitchen and need a good source of high protein on the go.
I tried the chocolate orange flavour and it tasted great. The texture was not bad at all and there was only a tiny after taste of the protein. This was defiantly much nicer than my experiences with protein bars. It felt like a nice treat, it’s amazing to think that there’s 38 grams of protein in each cookie.
Myprotein also offer lots of other flavours to choose from which I’m looking forward to try. Cookies and cream, white chocolate almond and rocky road are the ones I’m keeping my eyes on!
How long will it last?
Myprotein sell these cookies in boxes of 12 which is not too bad. If your looking for a good bulking snack and like the ways these cookies taste I recommend buying 2 packs at a time which should be good to last you a month if you snack on them on training days.
